- Transit visa required for most nationalities transiting Russia by land. Air transit: airside exempt for most for up to 24 hours. Russia-Ukraine context makes transit very complex for some nationalities. Source: Russian MFA.

- Hotel confirmation required for Russian eVisa — hotels provide confirmation numbers registered with Russian immigration. Alternatively: invitation letter (voucher) from registered Russian travel company covering full stay. Source: evisa.kdmid.ru official requirements.

- No invitation letter required for unified eVisa. Official evisa.kdmid.ru: "not required to submit an invitation letter." Source: evisa.kdmid.ru official. Note: sticker visa requires invitation — eVisa does not.
