How it works

Choose your photo, then the size you need. The tool crops it to the right shape; zoom and move it until the face sits inside the oval. It then saves a JPEG at the required pixel size, at the highest quality that keeps the file within the KB limit.

The tool checks the band along the top and sides of the photo, where the background usually shows, and warns you if it is not plain and light. This is a rough check: it does not replace the official rules on glasses, lighting or expression.

For printed photos it makes a 10×15 cm sheet at 300 dpi with several copies, which any photo shop prints at the standard size.

Everything runs on your device. Your photo is never uploaded or stored.

Questions

What size is a US visa photo?
The U.S. Department of State asks for a square digital photo between 600×600 and 1200×1200 pixels, JPEG, up to 240 KB, on a white or off-white background. Choose "US visa" in the tool.
What is 35×45 mm in pixels?
At 300 dpi it is about 413×531 pixels. It is the printed size many embassies ask for, Schengen consulates among them. Always confirm the embassy’s own specification.
How do I reduce the photo size in KB?
Enter the maximum in "Custom size" or choose a preset. The tool lowers the JPEG quality step by step until the file fits, without changing the required dimensions.
Is my photo uploaded to your site?
No. All processing happens in your browser; the photo never leaves your device.
Does the tool guarantee my photo is accepted?
No. It sets the size and file size and roughly checks the background, but acceptance also depends on lighting, head position and how recent the photo is. Check the rules on the official page.
