How to apply for the Armenia visa, step by step
Select your product; each application has separate steps.
21-day electronic visitor visa
Check the passport route
Select citizenship and Ordinary Passport in the ministry checker, then review supporting-document conditions.
Select document and purpose
In the eVisa portal select travel-document country, document type and purpose. The next stage requires an email and CAPTCHA.
Prepare the required details
The portal displays Requested details and Purpose and duration sections. Prepare the passport and the nationality-specific supporting documents before continuing.
Review and pay
The portal displays Data confirmation and Payment sections. The official terms list Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover and PayPal; fees are non-refundable.
Keep the approval printout
The airline requires a printed eVisa confirmation. Check its status through the official portal before travel.

Announced changes
From 1 November 2026
A new work-entry visa category takes effect: up to 120 days, single or multiple entry, issued once per calendar year without extension. Work and residence procedures need a separate review before using that route.
From 1 July 2027
The published temporary residence-based visa exemption reaches its stated end date; recheck eligibility before travel.

Armenia visa for residents of the Gulf
The temporary exemption covers listed passports with qualifying Gulf residence valid for 6 calendar months, from 2026-07-01 to 2027-07-01. Airline results describe an arrival visa for several of these passports; use each passport’s stricter conditional route.

- Ucom offers eSIM for supported devices. Its instructions require visiting a service centre with a passport; check device compatibility.
- Cash declaration
- Declare cash and traveller’s cheques above USD 10000 equivalent. Above USD 100000, provide evidence of origin. Other monetary instruments must be declared regardless of amount; funds on bank cards are excluded.
- Duty-free allowance
- Air: personal goods up to 50 kg and EUR 10000. Land: use the lower published limit of 10 kg and EUR 200 pending clarification; another official guide states 25 kg and EUR 500. Age 18+: 3 litres of alcohol and 200 cigarettes, 50 cigars, 200 heated sticks or 250 g tobacco.
- Medicines
- Personal medicines: up to 10 types and 3 consumer packs each, unless a physician’s document justifies more. Controlled medicines require medical-need documents naming the product and quantity, Armenian translation and notarization where applicable, and a customs declaration. They must be registered in Armenia.
- Overstaying
- Staying without valid permission or with invalid documents can result in a fine of AMD 50000–100000.

Frequently asked questions
How much is the Armenia eVisa for Egyptians?
The portal displays USD 8 for a stay up to 21 days and USD 39 for a stay up to 120 days. Egyptian applicants must also meet the insurance and supporting-document checklist.
Can a Gulf resident enter Armenia without a visa?
A temporary exemption covers listed passports with qualifying physical residence valid for 6 calendar months after entry, from 2026-07-01 to 2027-07-01. Airline results differ for several passports. Check your passport’s condition and confirm with the airline before relying on the exemption.
Do Iraqi citizens need an invitation?
For an eVisa, travel medical insurance is mandatory. Either provide a qualifying foreign visa/residence, or return booking, a local invitation and financial evidence such as a 3-month bank statement or employment proof.
Can I show the eVisa on my phone?
The airline checker requires a printed eVisa confirmation. Carry the printout and check approval through the official status page before travel.
How long does the Armenia eVisa take?
The stated processing time is 3 working days starting on the next working day after submission. Additional-information requests can extend this period; approval is needed before travel when your route requires an eVisa.
Do I need a visa for a connection in Armenia?
The ministry’s Armenian page allows up to 48 hours in the airport transit area without entering Armenia. If you pass border control, apply the entry rule for your passport. Confirm the transit arrangement with the carrier.
Can I extend my Armenia visitor visa?
Visitor visas can generally be extended by up to 60 days. Apply to the Migration and Citizenship Service before expiry and provide the reason. The current extension fee needs confirmation.
Is an invitation needed for Syrian citizens?
The ordinary route is an advance consular visa with an invitation. Qualifying foreign residence may change that route; check the structured residence condition and confirm the airline’s acceptance.
Do Saudi citizens need an Armenia visa?
Saudi passport holders are exempt for up to 180 days within one year. Keep the passport valid throughout the stay.
How much cash can I take into Armenia?
