Before you travel
Health notices
Travellers arriving from DR Congo, Uganda or South Sudan, including through another country after presence there within 21 days, cannot currently enter under the announced health measure. Exceptions include Saudi citizens, diplomats, official delegations, state and government guests and their accompanying families, and crew, subject to health protocols.

- Use the lower SAR 40000 declaration threshold for cash and specified valuables pending confirmation; another customs page states SAR 60000. Sources differ; confirm with the embassy or your airline.
- Duty-free allowance
- Declare gifts or personal purchases above SAR 3000 under the inspected customs page; other product allowances require a separate check.
- Medicines
- Use the SFDA controlled-drug permission service when applicable. For pilgrims, provide a passport copy, a medical report or prescription issued within 6 months and a package photo; quantity is limited to 30 days or the shorter stay.
- Overstaying
- Overstays attract fines that must be settled before exit; a current universal daily fine was not confirmed.

How much is the Saudi tourist electronic visa?
The current tourism checker shows SAR 395, including application and insurance charges, for the checked eligible nationalities. This is USD 105.33 at 3.75 SAR per USD on 2026-10-06. The separate insurance and service components were not published.
Can an Egyptian resident in the UAE apply online?
Yes, the GCC-residence route covers residents regardless of profession, with at least 3 months of residence validity and the passport requirements. Obtain the issued visa before travel.
Can I enter using a Schengen visa?
A valid tourist or business visa used at least once in its issuing country enables the specified Saudi electronic or arrival route. It does not itself replace the Saudi visa.
Can my family apply with my Gulf residence?
The FAQ allows first-degree family members—spouse, parents and children—through your account after your own application. Check the accompanying-family requirements.
Can Egyptians without Gulf residence use a tourism package?
The official package route lists Egypt and 6 other countries. It combines flights, accommodation and an electronic visa subject to review through the linked approved operators. A universal visa-only fee and stay were not published.
How long can I stay on the annual tourist visa?
Keep the total within 90 days over the one-year validity. Check the actual issue and expiry dates; multiple entries do not restart the annual allowance.
Do I need a visa for an airport connection?
A single booking without immigration clearance is exempt under the tourism FAQ. Obtain the appropriate entry document if you pass immigration or collect baggage for a separate booking. Confirm connections over 12 hours with the airline.
Is the 96-hour stopover completely free?
The visa component is free, but application and insurance charges apply. The Saudia example lists about SAR 39.50 for the application and insurance from SAR 13. The final amount varies.
Can I get a refund if the electronic visa is refused?
No. The official tourist visa terms and FAQ state that fees are non-refundable.
Are the health requirements the same for every visitor?
No. Origin, recent travel and purpose matter. Umrah requirements include specified vaccines and health-group conditions. Review the destination health notice and the current Ministry of Health document before travel.
