Cash declaration
Declare cash, qualifying bearer instruments, precious metals and stones totalling QAR 50,000 or more, or its foreign-currency equivalent.
Duty-free allowance
The MFA guide lists personal non-commercial gifts up to QAR 3,000 and 400 cigarettes or 20 cigars; other restrictions and conditions still apply.
Medicines
Check the Ministry of Public Health medicine list and request the free personal-use permit where applicable. Apply at least 5 working days before travel; decisions are stated within 3 working days after complete requirements, and an approved permit is valid for 90 days. Prescription and medical report must be recent, with the original documents available.
Overstaying
MOI publishes QAR 200 per day for tourist and GCC visit overstays. Cases beyond the published QAR 12,000 administrative threshold are referred for further calculation; this is not an assurance that liability ends there.

Frequently asked questions

How much is the Qatar visa for Egyptians?
Hayya publishes QAR 100 for A1, about USD 27.47. The MFA passport page directs applicants to a mission, so confirm the accepted route first; the consular total was not verified. Sources differ; confirm with the embassy or your airline.
Can a Saudi resident apply for Qatar A2?
Yes, the published A2 route covers GCC residents. Residence must remain valid for 3 months at application and arrival, and travel must be from the residence country. Approval is required before travel; the fee is QAR 100 and the stay is 30 days.
Does a US visa help me enter Qatar?
A valid US visa or residence can support Hayya A3. It must be valid at application and approval. Apply and obtain approval before travelling; the supporting document alone is insufficient. The published fee is QAR 100.
Do I need a transit visa at Doha airport?
Hamad Airport says a transit visa is unnecessary while remaining inside the airport. UK guidance limits the transit-area stay to 24 hours. To leave the airport, satisfy the entry route for your passport or obtain an eligible transit visa.
Can I show Hayya on my phone?
The official guide allows the Hayya app or a printed PDF. Use the currently issued entry document and keep its details available; the old physical Hayya card is insufficient.
Do children need their own Hayya visa?
Each visitor needs individual permission. For A1, children under 18 may be included as dependants. A4 companions require a separate account regardless of age.
Can I travel while Hayya is pending?
No. The application must be fully approved before travel. Do not create a duplicate pending application; respond to accommodation and payment requests within their deadlines.
Is a Discover Qatar hotel compulsory?
It is required for specified arrival routes, including Indian, Pakistani, Thai, Ukrainian and Iranian passports. It is not a universal A1 requirement: the Hayya FAQ expressly allows Indian A1 applicants other booking platforms or a registered family/friend host.
Can I extend my Hayya stay?
Hayya directs visitors to request an extension before expiry at the Directorate of Passport at Hamad International Airport. Eligibility, maximum duration and charges depend on the permission; a four-day Discover Qatar transit visa cannot be extended.
Are Qatar visa payments refundable?
Hayya A1–A4 fees are non-refundable. Discover Qatar states that a refused transit application is refunded after deducting QAR 25. A stopover hotel booking used for a Hayya or visa application becomes non-refundable.
