Thailand visa for residents of the Gulf
If you live in a Gulf country, your residence permit may open an easier route to Thailand. The rules below are by country of residence.
Check your eligibility and prepare your trip
All 6 GCC residence countries have an electronic submission route through the competent mission for lawful residents. The underlying passport exemption or approval requirement remains. DTV now requires permanent residence, a stricter test than ordinary visitor-visa residence.
| Residence | Route | Eligible passports | Conditions |
|---|---|---|---|
| UAE | Conditional · eVisa (apply online) | All nationalities | UAE residents must be physically in the UAE. Dubai publishes 5–20 days and recommends 20–30 days lead time; Abu Dhabi publishes 3–10 working days. Nationality-specific prior approvals remain applicable. |
| Saudi Arabia | Conditional · eVisa (apply online) | All nationalities | Riyadh accepts resident applicants physically in Saudi Arabia or Lebanon. General processing up to 10 working days; Iraqi applications 8–12 weeks. Nationality-specific prior approvals remain applicable. |
| Qatar | Conditional · eVisa (apply online) | All nationalities | Provide valid Qatar residence/QID. Doha publishes up to 10 working days, or up to 14 working days for incomplete documents. Nationality-specific prior approvals remain applicable. |
| Kuwait | Conditional · eVisa (apply online) | All nationalities | Provide Kuwait Civil ID and certified English translations. Processing minimum 3 working days; apply at least 10 working days ahead. Nationality-specific prior approvals remain applicable. |
