Who this applies to, and exceptions

What can change this answer

Holding another visa or a residence permit, your age or your port of entry can open a different route.

These routes are conditional. Every stated requirement must be met; selecting a document does not confirm eligibility.

Do you hold one of these?

Obtain the tourist visa before travel. Apply through the official portal for your country of residence.

Why we say this (2)
  • “This system will be available globally starting from 1 January 2025 through the website www.thaievisa.go.th.”

Quoted from Ministry of Foreign Affairs Thailand · Destination government · checked 6 Oct 2026

  • “A tourist visa (TR) allows foreign nationals to stay in Thailand for up to 60 days for tourism purposes.”

Quoted from Royal Thai Embassy Washington · Airline data (Timatic) · checked 6 Oct 2026

How to apply, step by step

  1. 1

    Choose the competent mission

Use your passport, current location and residence country to choose the correct mission and visa category. Apply while outside Thailand.

  2. 2

    Create and activate your account

Register at the official portal and activate the account through the email link.

  3. 3

Fill in the form and upload documents

Match the passport exactly and upload clear documents. Cairo requires a matching full name; submitted mistakes can require a new paid application.

  4. 4

Review the mission fee and pay

Pay through the instructed mission channel. Muscat currently requires payment at the Embassy using a printed payment QR; other listed missions accept online payment.

  5. 5

    Track the application

Check email and the portal for additional-document or interview requests. Processing begins with a complete application; it is not guaranteed by a booking date.

  6. 6

    Print approval and complete TDAC

Carry the approved visa printout. Submit the separate free TDAC within 3 days before arrival, including the arrival date.

Before you travel

Health notices

Travellers arriving from or transiting DR Congo must enter through Suvarnabhumi (BKK), undergo screening and follow at least 21 days of quarantine or isolation. The September health notice confirms this measure remains for DR Congo.

Check again before travel; we will review this on 13 October 2026.

These are conditional requirements, not a checklist for everyone. Choosing a city does not establish the mission’s jurisdiction over your residence.
