What can change this answer
Holding another visa or a residence permit, your age or your port of entry can open a different route.
These routes are conditional. Every stated requirement must be met; selecting a document does not confirm eligibility.
- Conditional · No visa needed
A local harbour-city permit can allow sightseeing near the sea port for up to 72 hours; it does not cover arriving or departing by air.
Obtain the visitor visa before travel; check conditional routes and the stay printed on the visa.

Requirements by application location and circumstance
These are conditional requirements, not a checklist for everyone. Choosing a city does not establish the mission’s jurisdiction over your residence.
Confirm whether the condition applies
Visa applicants need medical insurance covering their visit. The Cape Town instruction additionally requires South African eVisa applicants to buy it through the portal.
