An MOI notice dated 2026-05-20 applied an initial 30-day entry measure to arrivals from DR Congo and Uganda, except Jordanian citizens. The carrier still lists a measure for presence or transit in DR Congo within 21 days, until further notice. Current continuation for Uganda and an official end date were not confirmed.

- Personal non-commercial gifts up to JOD 200 may qualify, excluding frequent travellers. The current customs guide gives a 50% duty-and-tax exemption on the first cigarette carton bought at the border duty-free shop; confirm other allowances.

Frequently asked questions
Do Egyptians need a Jordan visa?
Egypt’s official information service states that Egyptians do not need an entry visa; some categories, especially workers, have separate entry controls. Confirm the purpose-specific documents.
Can an Iraqi GCC resident enter Jordan?
A qualifying GCC residence can permit electronic or arrival issuance without advance approval. Retain at least 6 months of validity and an air return ticket because sources also mention 4 months. Sources differ; confirm with the embassy or your airline.
What is the Syrian GCC-resident route?
When arriving from the residence country, a qualifying residence valid at least 4 months permits the specific facility for up to 1 month. Confirm the visa issuance process and carry the residence document.
How much is the standard Jordan visa?
The standard single-entry fee is JOD 40, about USD 56.42 at the central bank midpoint dated 2026-10-05. Some nationalities have fee exemptions; the approval route may have other charges.
Does Jordan Pass work for Arab travellers?
The official FAQ says the pass is unavailable to Arab nationality holders. It is an attractions pass with a conditional visa-fee waiver, not a visa.
Can I show the visa on my phone?
The immediate electronic service instructs travellers to print the visa before travel. Carry the printed document with the passport and supporting documents.
Can I obtain the visa at King Hussein Bridge?
Travellers who need a visa should obtain it before arrival at this crossing. Do not rely on arrival issuance there.
Do children pay the visa fee?
The Dubai consulate FAQ says children under 16 pay the full visa charge. A nationality-specific exemption can still apply; free attraction admission is a separate benefit.
How long is a Jordan entry transit visa?
The entry transit visa permits 72 hours and cannot be extended. Pure airside transfer has separate requirements that must be checked with the airline.
What is the overstay charge?
The published daily overstay charge is JOD 3. Follow the departure date granted at entry and arrange an extension before that date.
